Wray Basketball played in the regional tournament over the weekend. On Friday, the 10th seeded boys grinded out a tough win over 23rd seed Elbert 48-39 despite never getting into their usual offensive rhythm.

Meanwhile, the 21st seeded girls upset 12th seed Monte Vista 55-31 after falling into an early 10 point deficit. However, the teams were not able to carry that success into Saturday, as the boys fell to 7th seed Denver Christian 62-53 in overtime, as they were able to force the extra period after trailing by as many as 8 in the 2nd half, but Denver Christian saved their best for last and put Wray away with hot 3 point shooting. The girls lost in their Saturday game 56-31 to 5th seed Hoehne as they could not solve a tough full court press. The girls fall in the regional finals for the 3rd season in a row, and the boys will miss out on the state tournament for the first time since 2019. This concludes the winter sports season for Wray.

For the spring, baseball plays their first doubleheader on March 22 at Akron, girls golf plays their first tournament on March 26 at Holyoke, and track takes part in their first meet on March 23 at Yuma.
