KRDZ Sports Update 01/15/24

Wray Basketball split their games over the weekend. On Friday, the girls lost to Akron 54-23 and could never get going into an offensive rhythm. Meanwhile, the boys won 65-44 and continued to grow their lead as the game wore on, led by a combined 34 points from AB Ruiz and Rafael Trejo, who shot an efficient 14 of 24. On Saturday, the girls got a huge bounce-back win over 9th ranked Denver Christian, as their offense hit their shots and their defense forced a ton of misses and turnovers and were led by Dori Saffer's 17 points and Sharon Greek's 12. The boys lost their Saturday game in a heartbreaker 46-45. The boys led by 2 points late before a Denver Christian 3 pointer with 8 seconds left ended up being the deciding bucket as Wray could not score as time expired. Wray Basketball will take on Caliche on Thursday.
