Wray Basketball split their games against Burlington on the road last night. For the girls, they lost 60-27. Wray never could get going offensively against tough defense from Burlington, who used a 21-4 3rd quarter to effectively seal the win. Burlington outscored Wray in all 4 quarters. For the boys, they played their most dominating game of the season so far with a 77-27 win. Wray led 24-0 midway through the first and 35-5 at the end of the first and just continued to grow the lead from there, playing their JV players in the 4th quarter with a running clock. Rafael Trejo led the way with 22 points, 16 of which coming in the first 6 minutes of the game. Wray Basketball will host Akron on Friday.
Wray Girls Wrestling was in the Perkins County Invite tournament in Grant, NE yesterday. It was a small tournament, with only 4 total schools participating, but Wray did have some success with the limited field, with Jamie Sharp and Jaycie Snapp finishing in 1st place each with a combined 3 pins. Wray Girls Wrestling will be in a tournament in Wiggins on Saturday.
Wray Boys Wrestling will be back at it on Saturday in a tournament in Oberlin, KS starting at 8:30am.
