Brush softball won their fourth straight with a lopsided (18-3) five inning road victory at Timnath yesterday afternoon. The Lady Diggers improved their record to (9 and 8) and are above 500 for the first time since they started the season (2-1). Brush next plays at home tomorrow against the University Bulldogs. First pitch at 11 am here on hometown radio KFTM.
On the volleyball court last night, Fort Morgan was swept at Riverdale Ridge in game two of our double header. The Ravens' Addie Goff had a match high 19 kills, as Presley Siebrands led the Lady Mustangs with 8. League play continues on Tuesday when they host Severance at 6:30pm on KFTM.
Wiggins went to the wire with Sedgwick County and came away with a big five set victory at home. The Lady Tigers lost the opener, then won sets two and three, dropped a tough fourth (31-29), before taking the match in the fifth (15-12). Tyleigh Fesheke powered the Wiggins offense with 25 kills. The Lady Tigers will get some extra rest before they travel to Merino on Thursday for another big test against the Rams at 4pm.
Fort Morgan golf did not have a state qualifier out of 3A Region 3 and had their season come to a close yesterday at Boomerang Golf Course. The Mustangs were led by seniors Jeriah Blake, followed by Grayson Johnson, Dalton Allendorf, and freshman Carston Johnson. Congratulations the Fort Morgan golfers on a great season.
Coming up today on a football Friday, the Fort Morgan Mustangs close out their non-league schedule and month long homestand against the Frederick Golden Eagles. The Brush football team makes the long trip to Rifle for a 6pm kick, Weldon Valley plays at Prairie at 7pm, and the Wiggins Tigers are on their bye week. Other events today, has Fort Morgan Cross Country at the Dave Sanders invite at 3pm and Weldon Valley volleyball gets things started in New Raymer against the Mustangs at 4pm.
