The Roosevelt Roughriders picked up their first dual win in their brand new gym last night against Fort Morgan (46-28). Ashtyn Meeks, Adler Staley, and Nate Dahl won by pin fall and Ben Fritzler earned a (20 to 9) major decision. The Mustangs are up early as they travel to the NCCT wrestling tournament at Island Grove in Greeley this morning at 9am.
Brush grapplers started their western slope weekend off with a (40-24) win over the Bears in Rifle. The Diggers continue their trek today and are in Grand Junction for the Warrior Classic also at 9am
On the hardwood, the Fort Morgan Mustangs were home to Mountain View for a longs peak league matchup. The Mountain Lions finished the night with a pair of wins, defeating the Lady Mustangs (66-20) as the Mountain Lion boys earned their first win of the season (56-35). Fort Morgan closes out the week tomorrow night against Brush. Lady Mustangs are at 5:30pm with the boys at 7pm on hometown radio KFTM, 94.1 FM, and online at medialogicradio.com
Wiggins opened up play at the NJC Holiday Tournament yesterday in Sterling. The boys lost to Akron and next play Prairie today at 10:30am. The Lady Tigers took down Haxtun (49-20) and sets up a big semifinal match up with the Sedgwick County Cougars at 7pm back at NJC. Other events tonight, has Brush Lady Digger basketball at Valley for a 6pm tip and Wiggins wrestlers are in Burlington at 5pm.
