KFTM Sports Update 12/11/23

Brush and Fort Morgan had a top ten finish at the Roosevelt on Saturday. The Diggers tied for 6th and the Mustangs came in 10th. Brush placed four wrestlers with two champions, Austin Ley at 165 and TJ Rivera at 285. Fort Morgan had two place, Ashton Meeks was fourth at 150 and Noah Aguirre finished 3rd at 175. 

Brush has a long road trip this weekend that begins in Rifle on Thursday and concludes with the Warrior Classic in Grand Junction on Friday and Saturday. The Mustangs have their first dual away from home and take on Roosevelt on Thursday at 6pm on hometown radio KFTM, 94.1 FM, and online at

The Wiggins grapplers placed two wrestlers and finished in 19th place at the Limon Tournament. Their two placers also came at the same weight with Jorge Mendez in second and Michael Pacheco in fourth at 215 pounds. The Tigers travel to Burlington on Friday for a 5pm dual with the Cougars. 

On the hardwood, the Brush Boys closed out the Weld Central Tournament with a record of (0-3). They lost to Roaring Fork on Friday (63-33) and fell to the host Rebels (60-52) on Saturday. Both Brush teams play tomorrow at home against Yuma starting at 5:30pm

Fort Morgan basketball returns to league play tomorrow night at the Frederick Golden Eagles. Lady Mustangs are up first at 5:30pm with the boys at 7pm here on hometown radio KFTM, 94.1 FM and online at
