Fort Morgan began a long weekend of wrestling with an impressive (69-9) win at the Northridge Grizzlies last night. The Mustangs won 9 of the 10 matches with 8 pins and seven of them coming in the first period. Fort Morgan has an early start today as they travel to the Mel Smith Invite in Florence. Wiggins grapplers dropped both of their matches in Strasburg. They were defeated (30-27) by the host Indians and (48-36) against the Sterling Tigers. The Lady Tigers looked to have split their two in Strasburg. They tied with the Lady Indains at (30)and looked as if they won the tiebreaker, and then fell to Sterling (42-18). Both Tiger squads prepare for their home invite tomorrow at 9am.
On the hardwood, Fort Morgan was swept by the visiting Roosevelt Roughriders at Stan Lampe Gymnasium. The Lady Mustang lost in a final of (77-13) and the boys were defeated (71-46). The Mustangs head to Riverdale Ridge on Tuesday night for a 6pm and 7:30pm tip on Hometown Radio KFTM.
Basketball joins Mustang wrestling on tonight’s local schedule. The Wiggins Tigers host the Merino Rams starting at 4pm and Weldon Valley boys make the long trip to Nederland at 5pm.
