Inmate death inder investigation at the Morgan County Jail - Fort Morgan Police Department to lead investigation

PRESS RELEASE: MORGAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE -
On Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at approximately 1:15 pm, deputies at the Morgan County Jail discovered an unresponsive male inmate alone in his cell.
Deputies immediately initiated lifesaving measures until personnel from the Fort Morgan Fire Department and the Morgan County Ambulance Service arrived and assumed medical care. Despite these efforts, the inmate could not be revived and was pronounced deceased.
At the request of Sheriff Dave Martin, the Fort Morgan Police Department is leading the investigation into the incident and will be working in coordination with the Morgan County Sheriff's Office.
At this time, foul play is not suspected.'
