Friday, November 17th, 27 year-old Luis Fernando Cerda-Regaldo was arrested, and put in the custody of the
Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. Last week he was getting medically cleared prior to being booked into the Weld County jail, and while at the Northern Colorado Medical Center, in Greeley, Cerda-Regaldo escaped police custody and left the medical center on foot.
Cerda-Regaldo was arrested by the Weld County Sheriff’s Office earlier that day on suspicion of possession of a stolen vehicle, obstruction, and attempt to influence law enforcement. As of 10:00 am on Friday 11/17, the search for the suspect in Larkspur area, had the suspect located by deputies and a citizen, hiding in a barn on private property. He was taken into custody without incident.
This is still an open investigation; more information may be released when it becomes available. He was found after an exhaustive search of the area, a shelter-in-place was put into effect during the search. Luis Fernando Cerda-Regaldo has been found and brought back into custody.
