At a special presentation on Tuesday evening (10/8), the Boys & Girls Club of Morgan County accepted a donation of 45 Samsung tablets from The Arc of Northeast Colorado, via the United Way of Morgan County. It was also made possible by Cargill & the Boys & Girls Club of Weld County.

Three of the students who received tablets, put together a special story video, that each one of them edited themselves. The students also made a giant ‘thank you’ card, signed by all the tablet recipients.

In attendance were Sue Boyett – Director of the United Way of Morgan County, Rachel Bigum – from the Boys & Girls Club of Weld County, Amelia Koehmstedt – Executive Director of The Arc of Northeast Colorado, Leticia Arguello – Advocacy Director for The Arc of Northeast Colorado, Kevin Bell from Cargill, Pauline Riber from United Way and Brad Paris from the Boys & Girls Club. A few parents and other community members were present as well. The Arc of Northeast Colorado was previously Arc of Weld County, and after 32 years, they are now servicing all of NE Colorado, including not only Weld, but Morgan, Logan, Sedgwick, Phillips, Washington, and Yuma Counties. Arc is Not an acronym, as they offer free individual advocacy services and conduct community outreach programs, including events, education, and training initiatives.
