Colorado State Patrol –

The CSP responded to a fatal crash on Monday, August 18th, at 10:21 a.m. on Highway 34 at MM 136. There was a Buick Enclave, a Honda Odyssey, a 2019 Kenworth semi, and a 2007 Kenworth semi that were involved in the crash. The driver of the Buick is a 42-year-old female from Greeley with life-threatening injuries. The passenger in the Buick is a minor female with no injuries. The drivers of both Kenworth semis, a 33-year-old male from Eaton and a 54-year-old male from Brush, have no injuries. The 64-year-old female driver of the Honda from Fort Morgan was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. Her identity will be released by the coroner once the next of kin is notified.

The Buick was traveling westbound on Highway 34, negotiating a right-hand curve, when it crossed over the double yellow lines dividing eastbound and westbound traffic. Both the Kenworth semis and the Honda Odyssey were traveling eastbound on Highway 34. The Buick impacted the trailer being pulled by the eastbound 2019 Kenworth. After impacting that trailer, the Buick rotated out of control and was struck by the Honda that was also traveling eastbound. The 2007 Kenworth struck the other Kenworth semi as it continued out of control. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
