First responders in Fort Morgan had an active Saturday afternoon and evening. Following a big structure fire on the west side of town, which had multiple agencies responding, there were a couple of other major incidents that occurred as well.
Crews responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash on Highway 52, north of the airport, at about 3 pm on Saturday. The vehicle was on its side with the occupants out of the vehicle by the time crews arrived. No reports of serious injuries with this wreck.
Later that evening, while the fire department was still handling and investigating the fire on Aurora Street, a call came in of another traffic crash, as a vehicle was reported to have crashed into a welding truck near Highway 34 between Barlow and CR-21. Reports were that both vehicles were engulfed in flames, and the fire posed a threat to nearby buildings. Traffic control was in place during the clean-up. A female driver who was found outside the vehicle was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Officers also responded to a bomb threat just 20 minutes later, in the 600 to 700 block of State Street. Just east of Main. According to scanner reports, it was determined to be an old mortar that was drilled through the top. It was determined to be a dummy. The areas around the site were blocked off during the investigation.
