They want to inform the public that they will be enforcing semi trucks driving on city side streets. The interior streets for the City of Brush are not built to handle the weight of these vehicles on a consistent basis in contrast to the surrounding streets such as Hospital Rd., Edison St, Colorado Ave., and Mill St.
The BPD is aware that there are citizens parking their trucks at their homes when not in use, but this is still a violation due to the commute to their homes. Signs are posted on the side streets advising No Trucks over 6000 lbs. Empty weight. There are streets with no signs such as Ray St. and those surrounding the hospital, but these are used for the transport of deliveries to businesses or schools and not a means to circumvent the laws. There will be circumstances that cause trucks to drive on the side streets, but this isn't for those situations, but rather typical day-to-day use that has been observed.
Only warnings are being issued at this time, but as time goes by tickets will be issued. The Brush Police Department appreciates the public understanding and cooperation.
