UPDATE: Identification of Body discovered near Brenda Joy Skate Park in Fort Morgan on Tuesday - investigation is ongoing

At 12:37 pm on Tuesday, February 3^rd, law enforcement, including the Fort Morgan Police Department and the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, were called to the area of Brenda Joy Skate Park in Fort Morgan for reports of a body being discovered.

When police arrived, it was determined that a body had been found in an irrigation canal between the 100 block of South West Street and the skate park.

The identity of the deceased has not been determined, although there were reports that it was a white female found with her head under water, wearing grey pants and a shirt, but that has NOT been confirmed.

In the press release about the incident, it states that the investigation is ongoing, with no further information being released at this time.

*UPDATE: PRESS RELEASE - Fort Morgan Police Department - With the help of the Morgan County Coroner's Office, identification has been made. The deceased is a 37-year-old female from Fort Morgan. At the request of the family, no other information will be released. No foul play is suspected, but the investigation between all agencies is ongoing.
