In a recent posting from the Morgan County RE-3 School District, the district gives a brief explanation regarding the changes to the attendance boundaries.
The posting read as follows:
Morgan County RE-3 School District - Beginning in 2026 -2027 school year, that due to enrollment numbers across multiple schools in our district, we have made the decision to adjust and redistribute attendance boundaries to better balance student populations and ensure equitable class sizes. As part of this transition, the Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program will now be housed at Sherman Language School (formerly Sherman Early Childhood) instead of Columbine Elementary School. In addition, Sherman Preschool will continue to operate at the Sherman campus. All other elementary schools will begin to serve kindergarten students as part of their regular programming.
With the continued growth of the population in Fort Morgan, we recognize that future redistricting may become necessary to best support our students, families, and staff. We remain committed to making thoughtful decisions that prioritize student learning and the long-term needs of our community. If you have any questions, please contact the Fort Morgan School District @ (970) 867-5633.
