The arraignment for 63-year-old Clifton Boggess Jr, has been postponed until December 2nd in Yuma County District Court.
Boggess appeared remotely for the hearing, along with District Attorney Travis Sides. His attorneys, Anna Schamber and Katherine McClaughlin, requested the delay to finish their investigation and line up expert witnesses. Judge Kim Killin approved the continuance and ordered both sides to set potential trial dates within two weeks, anticipating a not guilty plea.
Boggess faces charges including first-degree murder, tampering with a deceased body, and second-degree kidnapping in connection with the October 2023 death of 25-year-old Britani Meek of Yuma.
