Akron Moves Forward with Long-Awaited Airport Terminal Project!

News Release - TOWN OF AKRON, COLORADO - The Airport Development Committee met yesterday with Infusion Architects and TCC Corporation to officially kick off design for the new Colorado Plains Regional Airport terminal building!

This $1M project is powered by a $599,765 DOLA grant, with matching funds from CDOT Aeronautics. Construction of the is expected to begin in the new year after design and be completed by mid-2026.

This long-planned improvement will strengthen Akron’s role as a regional hub and support future economic development opportunities.
