It was a decent weekend turnout for the Fort Morgan Fire Department’s 3rd Annual Memorial Stair Climb that took place at Legion Field in Fort Morgan.
Folks gathered Saturday morning, September 13th, at 8 am at Legion Field to remember all those who were lost on September 11, 2001, at the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and in Pennsylvania.
2,200 steps are equivalent to the same number of stairs that the 343 New York Fire Fighters, and other first responders, took that day to climb the World Trade Centers in New York.
People could walk the steps at the home bleachers in a sequence that lapped them 12 times, or people could walk to track 4 times for the same number of steps.
Fort Morgan Fire Chief Trae Boehm thanked everyone for attending this year's climb and would like to see even more people come out for next year's event.
