3 seriously injured in a crash, as SUV plows into county building in Hugo

*PRESS RELEASE: COLORADO STATE PATROL - (Lincoln Co, CO) - At 10:19 a.m., on Tuesday, February 24th, the Colorado State Patrol responded to a crash in Hugo where an SUV went through the wall of a county building located at 103 3rd Street in Hugo, CO. Two employees inside the building and the driver were seriously injured, one of the employees was flown to a Denver area hospital.
A 75-year-old male driving a 2025 Subaru Crosstrek lost control entering the parking lot and went through the north wall of the county government building. The two employees, sitting at their desks, were struck by the Subaru and were seriously hurt. One of the employees, a 60-year-old female, was airlifted to an area hospital with possible life-threatening injuries. The second employee, a 64-year-old male, was transported by ground ambulance to an area hospital with serious injuries but has since been released. The driver of the Subaru was also transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries; he has not been released.
The brick building suffered extensive damage, leaving a car-sized hole.
The Colorado State Patrol’s Vehicular Crimes Unit is the lead investigator of the crash. The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and possible charges are pending.
